Tonight my husband took me to our favorite restaurant (Marzanos). I usually order the same thing...their tenderloin (delish). Tonight I was a bit reticent because it was paired with creamy polenta. I am a potato girl and so when I asked our server to describe the polenta, her first comment was, "It has the texture of cream of wheat." Well, I am not a cream of wheat kind of girl. But everything I have tried at this restaurant has been phenomenal. For example, last year they paired the tenderloin with mashed parsnips during the fall and I thought for sure they were fancy potatoes and I loved them. Soooooo, I went with the polenta tonight. Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! I am a newly converted polenta eating girl. Last but not least...those of you who have eaten with us at Marzanos know that I always look at their dessert tray before eating. It is a ritual. The server brings it by my table and I eye the selections. In the fall they always have some type of tart. Tonight we ordered 4 desserts. We ate the crème Brule (to die for) and Swedish Crème with berries (amazing) but we brought home the strawberry/rhubarb tart and spice cake 2inch x 6inch slice with cream cheese frosting. A few years ago (for my birthday) Louie gave me cooking lessons with the chef from Marzanos. I want more lessons...
