Tonight, my mother did not have a local hospital to go to...she was rushed to one in another neighborhood by Ambulance. Thankfully it was NOT a heart attack. Every neighborhood needs a hospital in close proximity. To give a general idea of the hospital that was CLOSEST to her...upon her discharge her cab fare was $15.00. That is a DISTANCE...You may not have health challenges; however, as someone with a chronic illness, I have had to be rushed to the hospital. Because of hospital closings current hospitals are over crowded - this is inhumane treatment of residents of New York City...Pay attention and look at the bigger picture...
