Tonight my sweet husband had the results of my experiment for his supper and he loved them! He had bacon-wrapped hot dogs! I will definitely be making them again! My sweet husband said that it elevated his hot dogs to a new level! lol To make them, I wrapped a slice of bacon around each wiener, seasoned them with just a little black pepper, browned them over medium to medium-low heat in a cast iron skillet (turning them every couple of minutes so the bacon browned evenly) and drained any excess fat on paper towels. One slice of bacon was the perfect amount to fully cover the wiener. I secured the end of the piece of bacon with a toothpick for the first few minutes because I was concerned the bacon might pull but Im not sure if that was necessary. They turned out good!
