Tonight on Media Watch, the media was put to task over the bashing they provide to the cycling community after Safe Cycling Australia wrote an Open Letter to the Media with a Please Explain. We heard a transcript from Kel Richards of 2GB and how he thinks it is funny to hit and kill bike riders (people with families, Kel, you want to break up families) and Derryn Hinch who calls bike riders like kids and Mums and Dads as Cockroaches (all respect gone for that man). We know about Claire and Susie and their hatred of people on bicycles. But we are seeing a change, and the example of that is from the newspaper famous for Daniel Meers and his attack on Cycling. The last part of this article shows a leopard can change its spots with the story that was titled Rising antagonism between motorists and cyclists on the Gold Coast must stop from April 02 this year.
