Tonight, the President will address the nation about military action against the terrorist group ISIL (or as it is sometimes referred to ISIS). I am calling on the President to work with Congress before making any decisions involving military action. After being entangled in a global conflict for 13 years, we owe it to the American people and most importantly, to the servicemen and women, their families and veterans who have made tremendous sacrifices in support of our country to have a thorough and transparent debate before we start to go down this road again. We cannot make the same mistakes over and over again.
