Tonight the kids(8 canines and 10 cats) and I had venison. Now - TopicsExpress

Tonight the kids(8 canines and 10 cats) and I had venison. Now before any of you inject a comment about meat eating and hunting let me make it clear that to me hunting is not a sport (when I do hunt it is with a bow) It is a matter of survival to put food on the table, nothing more.(try feeding the crew I have and save money) The deer meat is a lot more pure than the store bought meat and is not tainted with growth hormones and antibiotics. Our ancestors were omnivores and usually ate everything on the run if they were the typical hunter-gatherers. If you object to the idea of eating meat then you must understand that is an individual decision, not a communal one or a law. And since Im not interested in the notion of getting permission to live from people who call themselves an authority that could care less if I live or die, they can take their hive mind PR and stick it. But before I continue further, my kids always eat first, even the little field mouse that has taken up residence in the kitchen. I am their guest, I own no one but the cats do own me. I mix the venison in with the hard food and add a little Virgin olive oil. With the dogs I mix it in with their Blue mountain hard food with a little olive oil and they are in 7th heaven, If they could converse in a human manner they would tell you to get bitten. As for myself I had venison steak with stuffed bell peppers and home made vegetable soup(with a dash of jalapeno and nib-bit of garlic) and green tea. For Dessert, honey dipped strawberries. Of course the mouse has a bowl underneath the sink(we have an arrangement), because of the cats.:)
