Tonight we welcome a new horse to our home...Cocktails N Dip, aka..Serena. There is a story, its kinda long, but important to me....... As most of you who know me know...I have been struggling with my totally awesome mare Aly for some time with a lame right front leg...after much help and advice, she was finally diagnosed with a deep abscess under the frog. I have been treating her and trying to resolve the issue...to no avail...(honestly, I have done everything Ive heard, read, an been told to do to treat this).....enter Brittany McNeil via mutual friend Cari-Terry Zenkawich....what does Brittany do....rehab animals and horses. We start talking and she has Serena (who is a rehabed race horse, but she cant ride her for the next 4+ months), ready to move up to a home and permanent job...I have Aly...who I cant fix, and needs 4-6 months off to heal and rest.......call it fate, or divine intervention...but it worked out for all 4 of us. After praying about it....I loaded Aly up and headed over....I pull into the drive way, and a 3 legged lab greets us...along with a cat with no tail...then we here the loving rehab stories....yep....were in the right place. I tell her everything I know, and she does the same to me...we both are shocked at how similar confirmation wise both mares are.......a deal struck. As I pull out of her drive way, I struggle to keep it together...but know I have given Aly the best care I could find, and at the same time, Im excited to see where Serena takes me, and thirdly....I bask in the love of my Heavenly Father...who knows way more then me....and is mindful of each of our needs, and the needs of our animals. :-)
