Tonights project relates to the below. Yes, plants! I removed the dead plant, and found myself with an attractive, very high quality pot. Conveniently, it was filled with fertile soil, ready to grow something healthy and strong. Ive been cleaning house upstairs, casting aside useless junk, and have been more frequently noticing an old plant of mine. Its over 6 tall. I brought it with me from Arizona when I moved to Oregon; its been with me a long time. One of the two stems was long dead. The other somehow got by, even though I only tossed the occasional glass of water into its heavily-rootbound pot, and never once fertilized it. Its a survivor, thats for sure. I hauled it downstairs, stripped off the dead parts, pruned the roots, and repotted it, putting it next to the window in a place of honor where I will see it every day. Ive wiped the thick dust off its leathery leaves, and they shine now. It looks happier and healthier already. No, theres nothing symbolic there at all.
