And academic as this piece may seem, I am guessing no one here has seen this play out time and time again as much as I have. I have lived among the incredibly low in our society and when I listen to some of the discussion that go on, I just marvel. You will notice that about the most popular song in pentecostal churches now is open my way for me, father open my way for me...A young man full of life and vigor just sits for days unend waiting for his way to open. It will come one day. When it doesnt come, he starts to see other progressing people as enemies, violent crime sets in. In the alternative, he visits a juju priest or pastor who tells him an uncle is blocking his way in the village. Did any one see the news of the guy that went to his village and butchered his uncle because he had been told the uncle was blocking his way? The religious organizations are making it worse. But even them are not the real culprits. The real culprit is government and the flow of cash everywhere even though it may seem scarce. Sudden unexplained wealth proves to these waiting for my way to open people that it does happen. It encourages laziness and crime. I have to say this is one very on point . . . .
