Tony Crowley organised this letter of protest about the plan to close libraries in Liverpool and I was very happy to sign it, having much benefitted from a Library in Bootle when a boy (histories and memoirs of WWII), then the Carnegie Library in Garston when a teenager (books on the American Civil War, the genocide against the Native American Indians, and, by a seemingly natural progression, contemporary poetry ...). If you agree that the Mayor should try and find his £2.5 million savings elsewhere, do write to him. They are consulting with the public now, making the decision next month.
