Tony Richardson, who was inducted into the Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame Saturday night, was honored by the City of Daleville in a brief ceremony Sunday afternoon. Mayor Claudia Wigglesworth presented the former Daleville High School Warhawk, Auburn University standout and 17-year veteran of the NFL with a key to the city and recognized his accomplishments as an athlete and as a humanitarian. It was nice to have a group of people on hand to welcome Tony and congratulate him. Longtime Warhawk football announcer Leroy Livermore and others shared memories with the former football star, who is now a game commentator with the New York Jets. The mayor said she looks forward to having Richardson back to Daleville in the future for another celebration of his career.
