Lukoil grab 2-1 lead - May 29, 2014 POSTED BY: EUROBASKET NEWS Levski Sofia - Lukoil Acad. 99-106 Lukoil Academik upset Levski Sofia on the road and grabbed 2-1 lead in the Finals. Levski will be looking to close out the series in Game 4 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 106-99. Lukoil Acad. shot 62.9 percent from the field and made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Lukoil Acad. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Tony Weeden (183-83, college: Chicago St., agency: Three Eye Sports) who scored 19 points and 8 assists. Forward Alando Tucker (198-84, college: Wisconsin) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Five Lukoil Acad. players scored in double figures. Lukoil Acad.s coach Dimitrios Galanis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Brandon Heath (190-84, college: San Diego St.) who recorded 39 points (!!!) and 8 assists and guard Lionel Chalmers (184-80, college: Xavier) added 24 points respectively.
