Too Rare To Miss. It is very, very rare for a highly acclaimed play to follow its American and British tours with a run on the Costa Blanca. That is what is happening next week. Tim Hardy is bringing his one man production, The Trials of Galileo to the Javea Players Studio Theatre. It opens next Monday, March 24 and runs until Friday, March 28. The Trials of Galileo was specially written for Tim Hardy by the award winning writer, Nic Young. It is set in the study of Galileo’s small farmhouse in Arcetri where he is serving his sentence of house arrest. There he recounts for us, with some anger but also with wit and sarcasm, the sham and mockery that was his trial and the events which led him to write the book which was to be his downfall. The stories he tells us about this period of Papal dominance and fear are thought-provoking and, at times, highly humorous. And Tim Hardys phenomenal portrayal of the legendary astronomer transforms his story telling into enthralling theatre. Too rare and far too good to miss. The Trials of Galileo Javea Players Studio Theatre (in the street behind Bookworld) from Monday, March 24 to Friday, March 28. Curtain-up 8pm. Tickets 12 euros Call 96 579 4937 or boxofficejp@gmail
