Too Skinny? There is a new show called ‘The Bridge’ which is set along the Mexican-American border. The story-line deals with the literally thousands of young Mexican girls and ladies that go missing or are found dead each year. The male lead is a cool Mexican detective who has nothing to prove and is unmoved by the female American detective lead he grudgingly partners with. In the first episode they find a woman lying spread-eagled equally on both sides of the line marking the border. You later discover when the first responders attempt to remove the body that her top half is White and her bottom half is Mexican. Powerful stuff. I’m lovin’ the show, but the female detective bothers me. You see, the lady is anorexic-thin, following a trend that most prime-time White females have surrendered to. This lady sits at her desk, and instead of following the scene, I’m wondering how her neck manages to hold her head up. My mind wanders back to the small grey aliens with spaghetti necks and huge heads depicted in Area 51. I’m thinking maybe they did mate with humans in the distant past, and this woman is a result. And it isn’t only White women on TV that are sporting this look these days. Now I know that in entertainment it has always been this way to some extent, but Hollywood has gone flickin’ crazy with this crap, and some sisters are now buying-in. I mean, I like slender ladies ‘for tru.’ But I have to see some curves somewhere. Some solid sister-hood had better show up, or I’m not buyin’ nuttin’-figuratively speaking. I recently saw this one lady on a commercial, and she looked like she was hiding stilts under those flat-backed jeans. I mean, she had like, ‘camel toes’ between her stilts, uh, I mean legs. Who finds these spindly, Auschwitz-survivor looking ladies attractive? Yet there is a simple cure for this dangerous and un-healthy trend. It’s called muscle. To my mind, there is nothing more attractive than a lady with curves from her shoulders to her wrists, some outward protrusion on her thighs and buttocks, and an increase in inches between her waist and shoulders. I’m not talking Serena Williams, though I do find her physique a complete turn-on. Regina King is a perfect example of what I mean by muscled arms and firm thighs on a slender (not skinny) frame. I know, I know, people-my tastes and opinions are often outliers from the rest of you guys under the bell curve. I’m quirky and not likely to change, so there. Wait until you see what I have planned next…. tnasiti’s two cents, all rights reserved.
