Too fat to fly - should we be sympathetic? A woman from New York who died while on holiday in Hungary in October 2012 was told she could not board three separate flights because she was too fat. Morbidly-obese Vilma Soltesz was also wheelchair-bound by an amputated leg and suffered from diabetes and kidney disease. Her widower has now settled his 6 Million Dollar lawsuit against the three airlines for barring his late wife from flying, just days before she died. The lawsuit claims the couple were asked to disembark one of the planes after Mrs Soltesz struggled to get to her seats. It was feared other passengers could miss connecting flights. But, do you have sympathy for people who are morbidly-obese? And should you be allowed to fly even if it takes a team of medics and firefighters to get you on board?
