Too old to write science fiction With the launch of my new book - TopicsExpress

Too old to write science fiction With the launch of my new book T.I.M.E, I had some poster’s printed and placed them around the shopping mall where I run a martial arts and fitness centre. The posters give information on the book and invite any prospective buyer to call into my place of business and purchase a signed copy. Yesterday, I had two young men pop in and when I greeted them, the one inquired, are you James Moclair the author of the book T.I.M.E? I told him I was and that T.I.M.E is the sequel to my first science fiction novel, S.P.A.C.E. Both men exchanged glances and the chatty one said; James I thought you would be a lot younger, science fiction writers are normally quite young. Laughing I said, I maybe sixty three, but I am young at heart. After that we exchanged some pleasantries but they left without buying a book. To date, I have written three martial arts books and two science fiction books. In general, the martial arts books have been well received by the martial arts fraternity. Age has never been a Consideration. To my mind, the content of my Sci-Fi books is scientifically futuristic but as I do not know any other science fiction writers, is sixty three too old?
