Took Hexe to class last night. Shes doing really well with sit-stay, down-stay, heel, turns while walking, watch me, and distractions while in a sit. She was very attentive and we did well together. Until... Baby girl has PTSD from meeting dogs at the dog park this past weekend. She does NOT like other dogs getting all up in her tender parts. So when we all lined up to do some long lead wait-stays, she couldnt focus. She was too worried about the dogs on either side and making sure her back was to me and not them. We had to take her off to the side to calm her and get her to refocus. I dont think dog parks are going to be something we want to do often. She needs lots of good experiences in life, and just like Brian and I are not people persons, shes not a pack dog. She likes polite dogs, but aggressive butt sniffers need not apply.I need to be more attentive and do what it takes for her to feel comfortable out on walks with us.
