Took Trace back in for another vet check and another x-ray this morning. Although it is not 100%, it is looking more and more like aspiration pneumonia. He is still hacking/coughing and at times, trouble breathing, but so far very little blood, if any! This will be a slow healing process and as his larynx is paralyzed open it likely can be aggravated by fluid, etc getting into the lungs. We are not out of the woods and due to the larynx this will be an ongoing potential issue. Still a dangerous condition but we appear to be on the right road to recovery!!
