Top few items on my BBC news whassisname: Church appoints Bishopette, average wages on the rise, new laws being proposed for babies from three people (cos its tricky with identical chromosomal pairs to mate, so weve decided to help out a bit), smoking in cars to be banned, accusations against the army in Iraq found baseless, and even Cuba and the US seem to be chatting over the garden fence. It really isnt a perfect world, and my heart goes out to those whose lives arent that great right now. I sympathise, as my life has just gotten a bit worse after realising that Ive eaten the last of TdelaVs home-made cookies already, and thats not even a serious problem, really. But it kind of looks like there are a load of things, fundamental things, moving in the right direction. If you forget madmen with sharp blades for a moment, which I know is hard to do. And theres still a lot of bad. But its getting better. Trials never end, of course. Unhappiness and misfortune are bound to occur as long as people live, but there is a feeling now, that was not here before, and is not just on the surface of things, but penetrates all the way through: We’ve won it. It’s going to get better now. You can sort of tell these things. That last bit was Robert Pirsig. Not me.
