Top players in doubt for Ba A cloud of doubt surrounds the availability of Bas Fiji under-20 reps for the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna National Football Youth League final against Rewa at Govind Park on Sunday. The Ba youth squad includes Misiwani Nairube, Shanil Naidu, Narendra Rao, Praneel Naidu, Ravnit Chand, Jonetani Buksh and Saula Waqa all of whom were part of the Vodafone national team that won the Oceania Football Confederation U20 playoffs this year. Ba coach Salen Lal said he was worried about the Fiji U20 players being burnt out having featured at the district and club level as well. The concern is that these boys have trained and played a lot this season, Lal said. Some of them are carrying injuries so I will not field all of them. Rewa defeated Ba 4-1 in the final last year. The Delta Tigers will also include some Fiji U20 reps and district players. Lal said the pressure would be on them playing on their home soil. The team only assembled this week, he said. I was away in Suva attending the B-Licence course. Rewa has been camping for the past two weeks. However Ba is renowned for giving a 100 per cent all the time so we will go out there and do our best. The winner will receive $4000 while the runner-up will get $1500. The match will kick off at 3pm.
