MEN: The 2014 ICC World Twenty20 is the fifth ICC World Twenty20 competition, an international Twenty20 cricket tournament, that is currently taking place in Bangladesh from 16 March to 6 April 2014. It is being played in three cities — Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet. The International Cricket Council anounced Bangladesh as host in 2010. It is the second and consecutive time that an Asian country is hosting this event, as Sri Lanka hosted the previous tournament in 2012. TEAMS: (16), including all ten full members and six associate members who qualified through the 2013 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier. The top eight (full member) teams in the ICC T20I Championship rankings on 8 October 2012 enter the Super 10 stage. The remaining eight teams compete in the group stage, from which two teams advance to the Super 10 stage. Directly qualified for Super 10 Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies. Qualified for group stage: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Ireland, Nepal, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates and Zimbabwe Women: The 2014 ICC Womens World Twenty20 will be the fourth ICC Womens World Twenty20 competition, an international Twenty20 cricket tournament that will take place in Bangladesh from 23 March to 6 April 2014 and is scheduled to be played in the cities of Sylhet and Dhaka. Bangladesh will host the tournament as announced by the International Cricket Council in 2010. For the first time 10 teams, instead of 8, will play in the tournament which make it biggest Womens World Twenty20 ever. It will be the second and consecutive time that an Asian country will host this event (previous - Sri Lanka). Coxs Bazar Cricket Stadium was selected as the main venue for womens tournament, but the venue was shifted to the Sylhet Divisional Stadium due delays in construction work. TEAMS: The top six teams from the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 and hosts Bangladesh automatically qualified for the tournament. Three additional teams qualified for the tournament through the 2013 ICC Womens World Twenty20 Qualifier. Top 6 from 2012 ICC Womens World Twenty20: Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies. Top 3 from 2013 ICC Womens World Twenty20 Qualifier: Ireland, Pakistan, Sri Lanka LOGO: On 6 April 2013 ICC unveiled the logo of the tournament at a gala event in Dhaka. The logo uses the colours of the Bangladesh flag with splashes of blue representing the countrys iconic waterways (also as being the ICCs own colour). The logo is also inspired by the unique painted rickshaws which pack the streets of the Bangladesh cities. The T is made up of cricket stumps and the 0 in the T20 represents the cricket ball complete with Bangladeshi green seam while the white in the design lends an energetic, friendly and youthful feel to the logo.
