Topic of the Week: Mark 2:17- And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Do you show mercy to those around you? Jesus frequently hung out with sinners. In fact, thats the context where we get many of our lessons from. Jesus certainly did show mercy and forgiveness even when it was not deserved from him. That simple act certainly highlighted his humility. No one is perfect. We are all sinners. Jesus commands us to be merciful to each other in our imperfections. Do you act with kindness to those who do unkind or sinful things to you? I definitely fall short here. The takeaway message: our human nature tends to drive us toward revenge, gossip and equally unkind reactions. We should strive daily to forgive and forget as Jesus did/does. (As a bonus, people do pick up on your great attitude and it can impact how they continue to act toward you.) Feel free to discuss below!
