Topless Ice Fishing Derby in Ontario - 4 by Gerry Bethge Explicit Image Warning: Don’t say that we didn’t warn you! With temperatures hovering at -8 degrees Celsius, dozens of anglers gathered on the frozen waters of Picton Bay in Ontario last weekend for the fourth annual Merland Park Ice Fishing Derby. Fun, games and fishing were in great supply, but nothing to compare to the fan favorite: “Shirt Off, Fish Off.” More than 20 fishermen participated in the challenge in which anglers fished bare chested until they hooked a fish—up to 25 minutes or until frostbite sets in, which ever comes first. Mike Bellefeuille of Port Pertty, Ontario won the event by catching a three-inch perch eight minutes into the fun taking home a flat-screen TV. “Things tighten, but it’s good,” said four-time participant “Big” Al Fraser. The derby raised $1,500 for the Picton Kiwanis Club Terrific Kids campaign.
