Torin Finserr: For a child to be labelled as a B minus student or a such-and-such a percentile on a standardised test, is to obliterate individuality. Because then the child is part of a statistic and often the placement of children in some of our larger schools is determined by those statistics. And certainly college applications is still influenced by statistics. But whenever Waldorf students have shown up at college, we have reports from college professors that within a week or two, they can spot a Waldorf graduate in their classroom. Because they come across as being individuals, quite confident of themselves. They are willing to ask challenging questions. They have a panoramic view of history and civilization. They are willing to tackle any problem because they have made spoons out of wood. They all learn to knit. They all done the chemistry experiments, and that they all built the houses in third grade. They have learned a can-do way of approaching life. https://youtube/watch?v=AUQdxBOiVBc&feature=youtu.be
