Totally unnecessary and, a little perplexing as to why they took this approach, but...I really enjoyed FRIGHT NIGHT 2: NEW BLOOD. Its essentially yet another remake of the classic with the locale changed to Romania. Charley, Amy, Evil Ed, Peter Vincent, theyre all there. It hits all the familiar beats and probably fares even closer to the 85 film than the 11 Colin Farrell one. With a few different elements, Jerry(spelled Gerri) is a female now, perhaps the only thing it has in common with the original Part II. This time putting an Elizabeth Bathory spin on it. The production values are surprisingly high, direction solid with a slick visual style and a good music score. For a DTV thing, this did not look like a cheapo. Not to mention the head vamp chick is smokin, a bit of quality T&A thrown in there and a good time was had. Nothing amazing or anything, but I would recommend this movie to FRIGHT NIGHT fans and to anyone just looking for a good vampire flick.
