Toured an apartment complex this morning and I left there utterly depressed. A 675 sq ft apartment was outside of my comfort zone financially and it turned out to be dingy, dated, dark. Chipped formica counters, cheap carpet and vinyl floors, sagging pressedwood cabinetry, graying weathered decks. Came home and started Googling for other places. Serendipity! Pulled up to a 180 unit complex in a rural setting with a barn on the property and a pond full of geese across the road. The rental agent asked what size I was looking for and when I told her, probably one bedroom due to the cost she explained that they have some units they have done upgrades on and others they havent yet, but she happened to have a 2 bedroom open that would only be $10 more a month than the open 1 bedroom upgrade because it had only had some of the upgrades done. She showed me the 2 bedroom first. Walked in to the smell of new carpet and paint. Beautiful new cupboards and counters in the kitchen. so much storage I would even be able to fit all MY shoes and clothes in the closets. plus each tenant gets space in an outdoor shed! sliding glass doors across one entire living room wall. new light fixtures. full size washer dryer, dishwasher. She said tenants are free to paint even if they want to, just be sure to cover with primer when I move out. Then the kicker was the deposit is only $99. Only 3 miles from Melony. I filled out an application. It just seemed so perfect and right! ***EEEEEEE******
