Tourism-both the numbers and reports continue to be positive for tourism in the County. At last weeks July board meeting for the Brunswick County Tourism Development Authority, we heard that the County occupancy tax revenues continued to be about 14% up year over year for the last fiscal year through May (well see final figures for the year probably by September or October after audit). Those numbers rank near the top for the state. Area companies are reporting several near 100% occupancy weeks since mid-July, which is actually a first in a number of years for us. And there are two more strong weeks ahead of us before school schedules start to end the summer season.
