Town hall meeting on Toronto Youth Equity Strategy tonight: Members of the public are invited to attend a town hall meeting on Monday, December 1 to learn about and discuss the 28 recommendations and 111 actions contained in the City of Toronto Youth Equity Strategy. The meeting will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the rotunda of Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W. The strategy is intended to support youth 13 to 29 years of age who are most vulnerable to involvement in serious violence and crime, and to better co-ordinate the delivery of youth services in Toronto. Identifying specific service enhancements directed at youth is another function of the strategy. Featured participants at the town hall gathering include Randell Adjei, a spoken-word artist and founder of RISE Poetry Edutainment; Nomanzland, a youth theatre group; Carolyn Roberts, a filmmaker who will screen a short video; and members of Nia Centre for the Arts, who will provide a photography display.
