Townsville Police Court. AN OPIUM CASE ... Constable Thomas Peterson ... asked the defendant where he got the opium, and he replied from a Chinaman on the St. Albans to give to another Chinaman. Witness asked him if he would know the Chinaman again, and he replied No. In answer to witness defendant said he would not know the Chinaman he had to give it to, as they are so much alike. Witness then asked him if he would give it to the first Chinaman he met, but he made no reply ... The Bench imposed a fine of £10 in each case, or one months imprisonment in Stewarts Creek Gaol. - Townsville Daily Bulletin, 13 November 1914
