Traci Braaten shared Adam Deans note. November 25 at 3:27pm Yup. True story. Right here. Adam Dean First Nations Trust accounts in Canada ***TAXPAYER*** money is not used to pay anything used by First Nations. The Government of Canada is the trustee over First Nations Trust accounts worth over $2 trillion dollars. It earns an annual interest of over $35 billion. All moneys transferred to First Nations for capital expenditures and for general administration, health, education, etc. is drawn from the interest from those trusts. In fact the entire AAND budget is also drawn from those accounts, even though not all the money budgeted goes to the benefit of First Nations. The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that the government must turn the trusts over to trustees selected by individual First Nations bands. Yet the government refuses. Why?Because they do not have all that cash on hand, and any cash that is supposed to be there is used for benefit as cash flow for the government.Because that would be like giving Canada back to First Nations people “financially”, whereof First Nations would become independent within Canada; because each reservation is self-governed, the economic development of each reserve would then become self-efficient and non-dependent on the government of Canada. Which is what the Canadian government does not want, make sense? Ever wonder where the stimulus money came from? That is it. Over the years the trusts have been used to build all kinds of Canadian infrastructures, from the CN railway to the Welland Canal to Osgoode Hall, among others. ***TAXPAYER*** money is not used to pay anything used by First Nations. It is all their own money and has been for over 150 years.
