Track Trash – Martinsvilla 10/27/13 Bad Blood: It appeared - TopicsExpress

Track Trash – Martinsvilla 10/27/13 Bad Blood: It appeared that Happy was gonna end his deal with RCR on good terms…at least until yesterday’s Truck race. For whatever reason, Ty Dillon decided to dump Happy (not driving for RCR at the time). MRN reported that Childress encouraged Dillon to hit Harvicks truck under yellow. This then led to Happy saying there was nepotism in the RCR organization, and that the two Dillon boys were being spoon fed to go up the ranks at RCR. How this can NOT affect the 29 team (just when they have an outside chance at the Championship) is beyond me. But we all will have our eyes on the 29 team from now until the last race on Nov. 17th. Bradski: Just when NA$CAR announced that baseline concussion tests would be mandatory for 2014, our Bradski came out that he was not necessarily for this move. Like it or not, Bradski has established himself as one of the spokesmen for the drivers, and has no fear to buck the establishment when needed. And having the Championship belt around his waist sort of adds credence to his position. This is not over by a long shot…. Bayne: Although the Wood Brothers organization is well respected, they still fail to have full sponsorship and must run a part-time schedule in 2014. They want Trevor Bayne back behind the wheel next year, but this might not be his best decision. This dude needs a good full time ride that would allow him to develop to a first class driver, and the Wood Bros just don’t offer that. Even if they had full sponsorship, this would not assure them that their cars would be more competitive. Trevor, put some feelers out there and test the water. You’ll never know your true worth until you do so. Needham: Sorry to see the passing of Hal Needham. Some of us old farts remember his Skoal Bandit #33 car, with Harry Gant behind the wheel, winning 9 races and 13 poles. Da Race: Will the Yellows never stop flying? For a while there, they were going for a record. Lots of bumpin’ and bangin’, and torn up cars. It’s amazing that of the top 5 finishers, only JJ sustained a casual ding….all the rest seemed unscratched. But I do remember Gordo having a ding in his nose. Dats Racin’: Perhaps the best racing of the day was between da Biff and JJ. JJ apparently lit a fuse under Biff, and there were paybacks to be dealt with. It was great seeing da Biff tooling around the track with his rear bumper flapping in the breeze. Jburton: One of his better races of the past several years. Sort of looks like he wants to impress his 2014 employer (whoever that might be), cuz he’s been turning up the heat in the last few weeks. It’s about time he got up off his ars and put forth some good effort. Danica: I may have to eat some crow, cuz she quietly rose up through the ranks during the race (in a backup car), and at one time was 10th. On lap 28 she was 37th, and even went one lap down, but she quietly started moving up through the pack and finished 17th. This still doesn’t make her 2013 season a ‘winner’, cuz she’s got way too many bad finishes. Kudos: To Gordo for his Playoff W. To MattyBoy for a good effort. To Clint and Bradski for making a good effort to become spoilers. To Kenny Schredder, who apparently is saying that the Homestead race will be his last Cup outing. Heaps of 3’s all over the company that bought out Dupont paints (the name escapes me, and probably you, too) Racing Maniac #3
