Tradition: Kola nut with 7 lobes or Segments When kola nut is presented to you, and you break it, and the kola nut breaks into 7 lobes/segments, that calls for a big celebration because in Igbo Tradition a kola nut with 7 lobes is a symbol of double progress, that is outstanding blessing. It is believed that anyone who partakes in eating of the kolanut will experience incessant progress in every area of his or her life. On a very important note, if that happened in a palace of a king, it is not going to be just a celebration but a special day will be fix for the feast. That exactly was what happened on 31st day of December 2014 at the palace of HRH Eze E. C. O. Udoka the Eme II of Ofeme, when Crown Prince Tony Eze, the Ugwu Abia State and Ochemba of Ofeme came to fulfill the ritual of Oji gbara Asa, it was a celebration of progress, love and outstanding blessing.
