Traditional Village at ǀAeǁGams festival benefits from FNB donation Chairperson of the FNB Foundation Jane Katjavivi recently handed over a donation of N$ 60 000 towards the Traditional Village at the ǀAeǁGams Festival. She advised: “FNB has been involved with the ǀAeǁGams Arts and Cultural Festival since its inception. This year we decided to focus on embracing cultural diversity, and we are pleased to sponsor the Traditional Village. Our differentiator, and one of our values, at FNB is innovation. We define innovation as: ‘unlocking creativity by allowing our diverse and passionate team members to explore new, unique ways of adding value’. Katjavivi continued to say that amongst various cultures, exhibitions by the Cuban and Indonesian embassies were also found in the Traditional Village. “They enrich our experience and remind us that though we all come from specific cultures, we share a common humanity, and can celebrate our diversity together.” The Traditional Village brought together diverse and passionate teams and added great value to Namibia’s cultural heritage. Katjavivi: “We thank you, City of Windhoek, and those who conceptualised and put up the displays in the Traditional Village.” The cultures displayed in the village included the following: • The Mafwe living museum : Where traditional song and dance is epic • The Mbunza living museum: Where learning to make a mat and traditional games is a must • The San living museum: Where you can sharpen your skills in making fire and setting an animal trap • The Damara museum: Where you can learn to make traditional jewellery.
