Traffic has now become this islands largest stagnant burden. Massive daily man hours lost stuck in traffic are at this point incalculable. No bus service will solve this problem. At any one time there are just too many cars compared to the road capacity, especially in the case of certain arteries or locations which are made even worse during peak hours. At 0300 hrs early morning I can drive from Mosta to Paola in roughly 10 mins. At 0730 hrs I manage the same route in not less than 45 mins. Encounter a small accident or crazy ridiculous road maintenance at these peak hours and the same trip can easily take well over an hour. This should not be a political issue but a national one with immediate crisis management implemented.
