Trail running in South Africa hit a sweet spot this weekend at the AfricanX with a fantastic event. It has almost became an unofficial TR Convention where top names and ardent supporters gather for 3 three days to build new friendships and live the life of trail running. Excellent organisation,team dynamics and trails that have something for any runner just adds to the experience. The times ran by the racing snakes also showed that the standard of running has increased and average speeds of about 4min/km over stages longer than 30km and on tough mountainous terrain are not the exception any more. Also lots of focus on the normal runner with lots of prizes, fun competitions and even a Dress Up Day. This has truly became a bucket list event.
