Train Stations as living Garden Corridors. Our roads and railway - TopicsExpress

Train Stations as living Garden Corridors. Our roads and railway corridors are the arteries through which the life blood of our day to day settlements pass. Imagine a world where these arteries are once again brimming with life, flowing with opportunity as habitat linkages, connecting local areas into broader regional zones of ecosystem biodiversity, strength and resilience. Well tonight on Gardening Australia Jane visits a local community in melbourne who have transformed their train station and its surrounds. Its pretty simple really...every little piece of land makes up the puzzle that is the diversity DNA of our homes/suburbs/streets/yards/balconies...What you plant and look after is everyones resource, not just your own..insects ,animals, (birds bees whatever and however you choose to classify them) know no boundaries and ownership. The planet is their playground, their home. Lots more on the show tonight too...Im here in Moruya about to head to the "A Midwinters Nights Dream" a night of Fairy inspired mischief to celebrate the local winter harvest. Now we are talking..This is the way to spend a saturday....Having a little quiet time before the fairy hairy madness... Hope you enjoy the show.
