Training & News Update: Well, the die is cast and I am now scheduled on Delta Airlines for departure on 9 Sep 14 for Madrid, Spain and returning on 11 Nov 14. I just realized that Ive never booked a flight before. It was a little nerve-wracking doing it on line. All my flights to France, Spain, Hungary, and Japan had been scheduled for me. A new experience. In college, Ive flown in C-135 aircraft but I didnt have to schedule those flights either. However, now its done and I have actual dates for my trip, and a flood of mixed feelings have inundated my heart. I am excited because its done and going has become more real to me; but discombobulating in that did I do the right thing? Of course you did dummy. You are going to Spain for an incredible spiritual journey as well as for a worthy cause such as diabetes research funding/awareness. I am doing it first for God, then my family, then myself, and for fund-raising. What a great experience this is going to be walking 500 miles on the Way of St. James. A pilgrimage that has been made for over a thousand years! Wow. This morning I got up at 0530 and trained with full backpack gear for 10 kilometers and felt great when I was done. My Moabs are broken in and I feel much more ready to go than I did a few months ago. Now, I have a definite date with God on a journey of a lifetime. Amen. `
