Trains For Vaishno Devi Shrine Is Most Probably Going To Start From July From July, journey for Vaishno Devi temple is hope to get very easy since a number of trains including local, expresses, mail are expected to reach Katra which is known as the main base ground of the temple. The construction work which was going on around 25 KM route starting from Uddhampur to Katra has been almost finished and the railways are going to give the authority to Commissioner Railway Safety for a proper confirmation for trains to run on Katra route. Mr. Vinay Mittal, Railway Board Chairman and V K Gupta, GM of Indian Northern Railway is implementing a severe and proper inspection of this hilly Katra route before its operational activities. The railway team of high level is going to visit the Banihal_Qazigund line, which is likely to be start this month only. A Northern Railway senior official who is involved in this project of Rail link to Kashmir said that CRS must give a safety clearance for any new route which is to be operated. He also said that barring the laying of ballast less track on T1 tunnel which is about 3.1 KM long is one of the most laborious and difficult and other routes and work are almost finished. Many trains including Delhi-Pathankot Express, New Delhi-Uddhampur Uttar Sampark Kranti, Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Uddhampur Express, Jammu Mail, Ahmedabad-Uddhampur Express, Chandigarh-Katra Express and few others are in the list to reach Katra after the testing of the route. Also, a lot of local trains are also deciding to run between Katra and Uddhampur and also service can be further increased with the rise in demand. An official said that there is no surety on the number of trains for Katra. But after the stating of routes, many trains which come to Uddhampur can be further extended upto Katra. For the time being, Katra station is having only 3 platforms which will be increased upto 5 platforms in future. After the route becomes operational, the devotees will found easy to hail Vaishno Devi Mata, since Katra is known as base camp for the devotees of Mata. The estimate cost of this rote is around 960 Crores since it passes through a terrain which is totally inhospitable. This route is really a big challenge for the engineers This Uddhampur-Katra rail link route comprises of 30 big and small bridges and 7 tunnels, in which one of the tunnel’s height is 185-feet. For 25 KM route, there are 7 tunnels which come under 10 KM. Every year, around 10 million devotees pay visits Vaishno Devi shrine .
