Trance started for me in 1994 while touring germany as Ultra-Sonic hearing Sven Vath , Dj Fly , Westbam , Mark Spoon. Most DJs / Producers back home were busy caught up in Happy Hardcore and for me hearing all this new amazing music inspired us in the making of Global Tekno (95) and The Hour Of Chaos (97) albums. I also went to Goa in 94 and discovered Goa Trance for the first time which resulted in an psy / Goa trance EP released on Eve records starting a sub label Telika under the guise of Experimental Fluxtuation . By the golden year of Trance 1999 I had already moved on again and discovered Cocoon , Sven Vath new direction in techno and Steve Lawler on the space terrace in Ibiza playing progressive house which kick started myself and David Forbes to set up Debunk Records for our Scanners releases. The point of my rant - NEVER tie yourself down to one genre when theres so much good music out there.
