“Transactional leaders demonstrate a predominant concern for getting the task accomplished and are not particularly interested in followers’ needs. By contrast, transformational leaders, continuously show concern for subordinate needs, treat them with respect and employ a flexible orientation towards them. This does not necessarily mean that the transformational leader never resorts to punishment or negative feedback. When these behaviors are indeed used, they are perceived or may be interpreted as exceptional and required for completing the present task. In other words, what might be viewed as harsh and inconsiderate behavior for the transactional leader may very well be interpreted as utilitarian or necessary for the transformational leader”.…..From Meni Koslowsky and Shmuel Stashevsky’s Research Paper titled “Organizational Values and Social Power”, as published in the “International Journal of Manpower” Vol. 26 No. 1, 2005
