#TransferNews Sagna, Gunner Forever, Arsenal give defender offer too good to turn down According to reports in France, Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna is likely to commit himself to the Premier League side by signing a new contract. The French international’s contract expires at the end of the season and Arsenal were danger of losing him on a free in the summer. Arsene Wenger has said this week that extending the contract of Sagna is a priority for the football club and it appears there has been much work going on behind the scenes to get it sorted sooner rather than later. The normally very reliable France Football have reported that Sagna is likely to sign a three year extension with the North London club and it has been claimed he will earn €5m a year. Sagna has been linked with a move back home to either Monaco or PSG, so Wenger has had to compete with the big money on offer. The full back, despite turning 31 on Valentines Day, will get a three year deal because Arsenal see this as a special case and are therefore willing to make the extra effort.
