The project includes short case studies on the Desert Knowledge Centre and Solar Cities project in Alice Springs, Bushlight solar energy in remote communities, sustainable tropical architecture and eco-city development with Troppo Architects, as well as renewable energy technology companies Tenax Tidal Energy as well as grassroots community engagement through CoolMob. It also explores larger economic issues relating to the recent power pricing increases across the NT and how energy efficiency and renewables can fix the ever increasing cost of living. Directed by local filmmaker Timothy Parish, these documentaries were made possible through funding from the NT Government Community Climate Grants, an initiative to encourage energy efficient lifestyle choices, as well as envision the future clean energy economy potentials of the Northern Territory in an age of climate change and carbon reduction. The film will be followed by a panel discussion on NT ENERGY FUTURES hosted by Environment Centre NT Director Stuart Blanch, and featuring guests speakers from the NT SOLAR SUMMIT including Linden Freerson (Centre for appropriate Technology, Alice Springs), Alfonso Vega, (Abengoa Solar), Nicky Ison (Community Power Agency) and filmmaker Timothy Parish. Supported by the NT Government Community Climate Grants and Environment Centre NT. An official Sustainability Drinks Australia Event
