Transport in and around Kampala business district has been paralysed today morning with most taxi drivers keeping their taxis off the streets. Some defiant taxi drivers have been attacked with stones and their car windows smashed by unknown people in Kisaasi, Ntinda, Wandegeya among other places. Some drivers are making a kill having doubled the fares especially for passengers entering the city centre. The drivers are protesting high parking fees and mistreatment of their colleagues by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) enforcement officers.
