Travel Bloggers Exchange (TBEX) is the worlds leading conference for Travel Bloggers held every year in North America, Europe and now in the Asia Pacific. Finally, I was able to attend my first TBEX in Athens, Greece! My blogger friends ask me if it was worth attending it considering that it has a reputation to be only for newbies and the TBEX-Fraternity is racially discriminating and not friendly for first timers. For background, Ive been food and travel blogging close to 10 years in the Philippines, ASEAN and now Europe. Ive invested about ~ $1,900 to attend TBEX Athens: Conference fee ($150), Manila-Athens flight via Qatar ($1,360), Air BnB Accommodations $250, and Pocket Money ($140). Was attending TBEX really worth it? Ive talked to newbie travel bloggers, top travel bloggers in the world, and the conference organizers during my 12-day Athens trip to get an informed conclusion on my first TBEX experience.
