Travelled Pune to Mahur and travelled back via Mahur- Nanded- Pune using NH222 as primary route. Following are updates Pune- Nagar- No toll at Lonikand. (Nothing new but I travelled without toll for the first time after this toll was removed.) Roads are excellent as always. Note- there is HPCL COCO at Supe. Nagar- Ardhapur (NH222)- Roads are single carriageway and mostly well marked. Occasional undulations till Pathardi. After Patherdi road progressively deteriorates. And about 20km patch around Majalgaon is the worst patch of the road on this section. After Pathri upto Ardhapur roads are decent. Best to travell at 80 to 90 kmph for good comfort. Ardhapur- Varanga- This is dual carriageway road and its a shame to call it NH. This road is crater ridden and wherever they have fixed the road, the patch is so much over filled that it is about 2 inch above the road. So, crater or not, you will have an extremely shaky and bumpy bone testing drive. Varanga- Hadgaon- Umarkhed- Mahagaon- Mahur- This is single carriageway road and not so good. Ride is very bumpy and crater every few kms. However, I will not call it worse road compared to Ardhapur Varanga road. This is typical MH road. One of the toll around Umarkhed is now abolished by MH govt. While coming back, I made a mistake of continuing with NH204 which is kind of bypass road for Nanded as I wanted to reach the other side of Nanded. Keeping story short, dont ever take this road. This is also called Latur Nanded highway.
