Traversing the Wall by Ramón Blanco (ARTifariti 2011) has been selected by Emergent Art Space - EAS for the new International Exhibition Crossing Borders at the Gallery Gong in Seoul - South Korea. 233 (https://facebook/233art) is a multi-media artist whose work is strongly rooted in social and political activism. His video work Traversing the Wall (ARTifariti 2011) speaks about the legacy of Spanish colonialism in the ‘Wall of Shame’ a 270 mile long wall that divides the Sahrawi people of Western Sahara. Rooted in the failed process of decolonization, the mined wall traverses the Sahrawi territory from the north to the Atlantic Coast, forcing the separation of families and individuals. 233’s work is a quiet meditation on the evolution of colonial legacies and their continued influence on contemporary societies.
