Traversing the coastal areas of Leyte, from Ormoc - Ormoc, - TopicsExpress

Traversing the coastal areas of Leyte, from Ormoc - Ormoc, Kananga,Capoocan,Carigara, Jaro, Alang Alang, Palo, Tacloban City - To the Southern Coat, from Palo to Tanauan, Aboyog and Javier. For the Almost 2 weeks that Ive stayed, securing my family, lending help where I can, and getting back my faith due to what I have witnessed, I can say with an honest heart that the government did contribute to stabilizing our Leyte. However, if credit is given, it should be where it is due. The NGOs, The Foreign Help, and the Private sectors including the Media - they all contributed to what stability there is now in lyete. Yet no one could claim most of what is now than the Leyteños themselves. The Resilience they portrayed as the government requested time to plan everything and excute, the Faith they have as these NGOs reach out to where furthest their hands could go, and the Courage they maintained as the Media forsee their immediate help. These attributes are what made Leyte stable. These virtues are the foundation of why a third world countrys mid ranged region could withstand the greatest Typhon recorded; not the blame threwing of those who are in the position, not the time WASTED on planning before Immediate Action, and not the absurdity of reporting what is worst and drive their families insane with worry. Yes, Leyte now is a bit stable. In one instance, we had a resident complain and not accept his ration because it lacks what others were able to get. This itself is a sign that these men are no longer incapacitated; they are crippled or wounded, but they have their means of surviving. They loot food and some loot absurd stuff, but not because they will be using it for comfort in the future. What matters still is what they are experiencing now, that is why they sell even the refrigerators they loot - a critism I made unimportant because even BRAD PITT looted on the movie WORLD WAR Z. Worst could not even be worst as a peddler jokes of the fish he sells in downtown Tacloban to be fat due to the nutrients made available in the sea - mind you, the fish were not that bad once cooked, I ate a lot. Thirst, water was no longer a problem since Leyte water tubes are in the surface and are easy to slice - no need to use survival tools there. If they were able to ranzac malls, I think these water tubes are easy targets. Shelter, from 220,000 residents of tacloban alone, with the high cassualty count on both during the typhon and after, plus accounting the number of residents who left their province, the stablishments standing and left by their owners because of fear and the help of NGO and the Armed Forces - both local and foreign - in theory should no longer be a problem. Lastly, is the pride of our family members because not all could accept being labled as looters. Regardless, there were policemen, teachers, and even chinese businessmen I talked to who were not ashamed they looted. If they can, I think others could. Its mainly on survival perspective - again, BRAD PITT in World War Z. With that, I pretty much summed up all that are in my mind. My thoughts are to convey, that in Leyte, as of now, hunger and thirst are a matter of pride and perspective, while loss of loved ones are not to be compared - we have our very own missing loved one but in the face of this disaster, I think everyone is a victim and that we all could have had worst. I no longer care what the government thinks of how to run our Leyte, but I implore all my Facebook colleagues, to keep watch of the PRIVATE FUNDS gathered for the victims of the #SUPERTYPHONYOLANDA. As a regular employee and a non-patriot of my country, I am calling for transparency of denomination of these PRIVATE FUNDS. Qouting The Bible, Give to Ceasar what is due to Ceasar, but give to the victims what is due to them. If the victims are aware enough that they need to help themselves in order to survive, Im pretty sure, they are even more aware if the great bellied thieves of our country takes a cent from these FUNDS. Lets all call for Tranasparency of denomination for the private funds! #TANSPARENCY! You have had all the time in preparing as victims gathered their strength to support their own because you reason everything should go through proper planning, I guess this time is no longer an excuse for more time out and act fast and proper while there are still residents in Leyte. In my opinion, it will be harder to denominate help when most of the residents already left their province due to discomfort and fear. If you are waiting for a time where you could claim unclaimed funds due to absence, or other officials to take advantage of such, then I guess you will not be the #PRESIDENT, we thought you were. Again sir #PRESIDENT of the Philippines, the more time spent in planning, in the state we are in, is time wasted. Let us, your citizens, not be further disappointed. Ayaw na kita hin barasulay, kay ha urhi pati ha imu, it mga Leyteño, magmamahay. Intawun, kaluoyi kami. it para amon, ighatag ha amon. Buligi nla kami.
