Tree Birds 5/17/2013 The early birds have come and gone and so the dew which soon departs, but still the land in waking slumber sees not the day or its wonder. The sullen trees are plenty playful with all due grace and not a care – no storm to fear or fate to swear and never worried whatever to wear; big and small, too weak or strong they line the lane and gather loss – solemn witnesses to seasonal strife, silently bearing our dormant lives. And then a breeze, like life it seems there gently sways the idle field – wake on up ... heed your day, tomorrow passes while still you pray; idol worship in all its forms, far too real, and oft the norm; update your page cast out the net, it’s all the rage, for ages kept. cast out your net and what you get is ever a wonder and stranger yet – drowning fish in need of air, and floating showers! unreal, I swear! Bare snow diving and deep burning ice – too much knowledge and nothing wise, even elusive maps are presumptive and strange where the only constant is constant change. And so the birds, upon return see the scene and onward fare . . . perhaps in time they may return, if only to see if ever we learn. Haitham
