Your tour will take you sightseeing through the ancient cities of the Kathmandu Valley. You’ll visit Hindu temples and Buddhist stuppas in this country which is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. The two religions have coexisted peacefully here for thousands of years. You’ll see Durbar (Royal) Square where the monarchs of days gone by held their court. And see the thriving outdoor markets where almost all commerce takes place. Next we’ll take you to Chitwan National Park to experience the lowland jungles of Nepal. You’ll ride on the back of a gentle Indian elephant as you search for white rhinos, jaguars, monkeys, barking deer, and the elusive Bengal tiger. A local naturalist will take you bird watching where you will see some of the 800+ species of birds that inhabit Nepal. Your next stop is either to Pokhara, which sits at the base of the towering Annapurna mastiff or to the hilltop resort town of Nargarkot where you can see the vast sweep of the Himalayan Range. Finally it’s back to Kathmandu for some last minute shopping and preparation for your return trip.
