Triangle Art Associations Director Laurel Ptak was honored this week in Washington DC for her curatorial work as one of 100 Leading Global Thinkers of 2014. She shares this title with American artist Kara Walker, Germanys Chancellor Angela Merkel, Angolan artist Kiluanki Kia Hendra, Indias Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of Uruguay José Mujic, French artist Camille Henrot and others. Ptak sees her work as a critical global thinker reflected in the way she runs Triangle Arts Association, an international residency program for artists in New York City that is embedded in the Triangle Network, made up of 40 sister arts organizations around the world.
